The Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) has published a press release to inform of several decisions that the KNF made at its meeting on April 28, 2023. These include the following, among others:
(1) The decision to withdraw the permission of several entities to conduct activities in the field of payment services due to various violations, including the failure to report relevant transaction information. The affected parties are the following:
– Platforma Płatnicza sp. z o. o. located in Poznań;
– W1 sp. z o. o. located in Kraków.
(2) The decision to permit the withdrawal of shares from trading on the Warsaw stock exchange of the Center of Modern Technologies SA with its registered office in Sosnowiec per May 24, 2023.
(3) The decision to permit several entities to provide insurance or payment services in Poland or to offer alternative investment fund (AIF) management services within the EU, including the following:
– Meest Transfer sp. z o. o. located in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski (payment service);
– Digital Care Insurance Towarzystwo Ubezpieczeń SA located in Warsaw (insurance);
– PFR Ventures sp. z o. o. located in Warsaw (AIF management services).
(4) The decision to transfer the insurance and reinsurance business of DAS Towarzystwo Ubezpieczeń Ochrony Prawnej SA (in liquidation) located in Warsaw to Sopockie Towarzystwo Ubezpieczeń Ergo Hestia SA located in Sopot.
Other decisions of rather lesser importance concerned the approval of two presidents of the Management Board of two registered financial institutions and the disclosure of personal penalties that were imposed upon a member of the supervisory body of TERMO2POWER SA.
