The UK government has published a correction slip relating to the Economic Crime (Transparency and Enforcement) Act 2022 on legislation.gov.uk, the official platform for publicizing legal texts.
Specifically, the document corrects a minor error in regulation 2 (2) of the Economic Crime (Transparency and Enforcement) Act 2022 (Commencement No. 3) Regulations 2022 (SI 2022/876) as regards the application of provisions contained in regulation 4 (land ownership and transactions) towards England and Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.
The erroneous version contained a reference in regulation 2 (2) to „regulation 4(1)“. However, it must read to „regulation (4)“.

To recall, the Economic Crime (Transparency and Enforcement) Act 2022 (Commencement No. 3) Regulations 2022 brought into force a vast number of sections of the Economic Crime (Transparency and Enforcement) Act 2022 which was drawn up and published in March 2022 to „deliver transparency about who ultimately owns and controls overseas entities that own land in the UK“ by requiring overseas entities wishing to acquire or lease land in the UK to identify and register their beneficial owners with the Companies House Registrar.
