Korea: Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/2576 concerning restrictive measures against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea

Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/2576 with respect to sanctions measures directed against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea was published in the Official Journal (OJ) of the EU. The Regulation modifies various Annexes of Council Regulation (EU) 2017/1509 which primarily implements
– trade restrictions to no longer support the production and use of weapons of mass destruction and
– asset freezing measures on persons and entities linked to such production or use.
Annex XIII, Annex XV, and Annex XVI of the 2017 Regulation set out lists of persons, entities, and bodies subject to such measures. Specifically, Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/2576 replaces
– the records of 23 individuals and one entity named in the Annex XIII sanctions list,
– the records of eight individuals and one entity named in the Annex XV sanctions list, and
– the records of eight individuals and three entities named in the Annex XVI sanctions list.
