EU taxonomy: The Platform on Sustainable Finance together with the Commission is launching today the stakeholder request mechanism

ID 25351

The EC and the PSF have introduced a stakeholder request mechanism for evaluating and considering input on activities within the EU taxonomy.
This mechanism permits stakeholders to submit suggestions backed by scientific or technical evidence for new economic activities to be included in the EU taxonomy or potential revisions to technical screening criteria for existing activities. The PSF will collaborate with the Commission to analyse these requests and offer recommendations. It shall be noted in this context that the Commission is not bound by these recommendations and may decide on its own to make adjustments to the Taxonomy Regulation or corresponding delegated acts.
This mechanism will be ongoing, allowing submissions at any time, with a current processing deadline set for 15 December 2023 by the Platform’s Technical Working Group. Furthermore, the tool will remain available for future submissions, with additional cutoff dates to be communicated. Regular monitoring of the tool will be conducted by both the Commission and the Platform.
