The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System (FED) has published a press statement to inform that on Friday, June 16, 2023, it released a new database containing information about financial institutions that have access to or have requested access to Federal Reserve Bank master accounts and services. This database aligns with the legal obligations established last year and will be updated every quarter.
The database comprises two main sections: The first section includes financial institutions that currently possess access to Reserve Bank master accounts and services. The second section encompasses financial institutions that have either requested access to master accounts and services after December 23, 2022, or had pending requests on that date, along with the status of each request.
As there’s no more need to further advance the FED’s proposed amendments to its „Guidelines for Evaluating Account and Services Requests“ which would have also required Federal Reserve Banks to publish on a quarterly basis the names of financial institutions with access or requested access to master accounts and services and the Reserve Bank district they are located in, the FED has drawn up and meanwhile published in the Federal Register a notice stating that it is withdrawing its proposed amendments.
