Following the issuance of a new instrument (FCA 2023/20) as regards the implementation of a new project fee to be levied on payment service providers (PSPs) by the Payment System Regulator (PSR), the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has published the corresponding FCA Handbook provisions. Specifically, the FCA has issued new FEES 9.3 PSR Special Project Fee coming into force on April 28, 2023 which sets out the purpose of the new fee, its application, payment instructions, and penalties for late payments, among others.
