The Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation, OFSI, of the HM Treasury has published a new Financial Sanctions Notice regarding sanctions measures with respect to persons and entities that are engaged in or supportive of human rights abuses and other actions that threaten the peace and stability in Mali pursuant to Statutory Instrument SI 2020/705, the „Mali (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020“. Specifically, the office informs that it has updated its sanction list by correcting the records of one person on the list who remains subject to asset freezing measures. The affected individual and the corrections are as follows:

(UK Statement of Reasons):As head of the Wagner Group in Mali, Ivan Aleksandrovitch Maslov (MASLOV) is an involved person under the Mali (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020 because he has been involved in the commission of violations of international humanitarian law, in particular, he has been responsible for the deliberate targeting of civilians.
