The UK government has published a new Financial Sanctions Notice regarding sanctions measures with respect to persons and entities involved in or supportive of Russia’s action to destabilize Ukraine and threatening the sovereignty and independence of the country pursuant to Statutory Instrument SI 2019/855, the „Russia (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019“. Specifically, the government informs that it has updated its consolidated sanction list by modifying the records of a total of 1738 individuals and entities to include either of the following information in the „Other Information“ field – as quoted:
1. Financial sanctions imposed in addition to an asset freeze: Trust services
Date trust services sanctions imposed: 21/03/2023 (A total of 1730 entries are affected);
2. Financial sanctions imposed in addition to an asset freeze: Dealing with transferable securities or money-market instruments. Loans and credit arrangements (Seven entries are affected); and
3. Financial sanctions imposed in addition to an asset freeze: Correspondent banking relationships etc. (One entry is affected)
Details on the affected individuals and entities, such as their names, dates of birth (if applicable), places of residency, and other identifying information may be found in the Annex of the Notice.
