From 15 November 2023, the sixth revision of the IT Technical Guidance will come into effect. It introduces new validation criteria for reports required by the European AIFMD directive, which regulates alternative investment fund managers.
SGR responsible for managing and marketing FIA, as well as SICAV and SICAF that manage their own assets, are required to submit reports as mandated by the AIFMD directive to Consob, which will subsequently forward them to ESMA.
The updated IT Technical Guidance includes additional validation rules, such as making certain information fields mandatory to enhance the quality of transmitted data.
The existing reporting obligation outlined in articles 3(3)(d), 24(1), (2), and (4) of the AIFMD regulation, referred to as AIFMD reporting (Annex IV to EU Regulation No. 231/2013), must now be fulfilled by collective asset managers in accordance with the requirements of the sixth revision of the IT Technical Guidance.
The reference period for these changes will begin on Y1, H2, Q4, or X2 of 2023 (with the reference date being 31 December 2023).
The new IT Technical Guidance Revision 6 replaces the previously published Revision 5 (released in January 2023).
