In view of recent data leakage issues surrounding MOVEit, a file transfer program developed by the firm Progress, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has issued a press release in which it explains that the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) is closely working with firms that have been affected by this incident.
In this context, the FCA urges firms to check all companies along their supply chains to ensure that – if using MOVEit for file transfers – no data leakage has occurred. In case of negative impacts, firms must report these incidents to the FCA.
Finally, the regulator urges firms using the software to review the „Indicators of Compromise (IOCs)“ furnished by the software vendor and to follow any advice issued by such to mitigate any potential risks (e.g. via installing patches).
