A new consolidated version of Council Regulation (EU) 2017/1770 regarding sanction measures „in view of the situation in Mali“ has been published in the Official Journal (OJ) of the EU. The regulation contains a framework for the sanctioning of persons, entities, or bodies that engage in „hostilities in violation of the Agreement on Peace and Reconciliation in Mali“, obstruct humanitarian aid in the country, facilitate child recruitment for military purposes, or engage in or support human rights violations in Mali.
This latest consolidated version includes the amendments made by Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/428 which modified Annex Ia containing a list of names of sanctioned persons to add one person to that list. Please refer to the EventID #19739 in this context for more details on the addition.
