A new consolidated version of Council Regulation (EU) 2021/1275 concerning targeted restrictive measures against persons – both legal and natural – responsible for undermining democracy or the rule of law in Lebanon or supporting such activities was published in the Official Journal (OJ) of the EU.
This consolidated version includes the modifications made by Council Regulation (EU) 2023/2694 which replaced Article 4 to provide a derogation from the terms and regulations on the freezing of funds or the making available of funds so long as these funds are used for purposes of providing humanitarian aid and / or supporting basic human needs by certain organizations.
