A new consolidated version of Council Regulation (EU) No 359/2011 as regards „restrictive measures directed against certain persons, entities and bodies in view of the situation in Iran“ was published in the Official Journal (OJ) of the EU.
The Regulation thereby contains amendments to its Annex I setting out a list of sanctioned individuals, firms, and bodies which were made by Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/152. Specifically, the Implementing Regulation added 18 persons and 19 entities to that Annex I sanctions list for their engagement in the continued aggression against demonstrators by security forces, the unlawful detainment of such demonstrators, or the restriction of internet access to the general population in the country.
