The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) has published a press statement to announce that it will be hosting two workshops on October 24 and October 25, 2023 in Dallas, Texas, primarily addressed at directors, senior management, and key executives of national community banks and federal savings associations.
The first workshop entitled „Risk Governance: Improving Effectiveness“ takes place on October 24, from 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. It incorporates lectures, discussions, and exercises to equip participants with practical knowledge in identifying, measuring, monitoring, and controlling risks, thereby addressing major risks faced by the industry. It also focuses on the OCC’s risk-based supervisory approach and on strategic planning and responsible innovation.
The second workshop entitled „Capital Markets: Keeping Current“ takes place on October 25, from 8:00 a.m. through 12:00 p.m. and is designed to help bank executives gain a better understanding of balance sheet risk management, including „interest rate risk, liquidity risk, and risks associated with investment portfolios“. It will also present various risk management tools and elaborate on the OCC’s risk-based approach to assess liquidity and interest rate risk of supervised institutions.
The Risk Governance workshop carries a fee of $99, which includes course materials, supervisory materials, and lunch. The half-day Capital Markets workshop is priced at $49, with the fee being waived for participants who attend both workshops consecutively. Registrations may be made via this link.
