On May 3, 2023, the U.S. Department of the Treasury (USDT) published a press statement announcing various information as regards the USDT’s proposed debt issuance schedule, an upcoming Large Position Report call, and an upcoming free workshop concerning the rules pertaining to large position reporting. To begin with, the Department published its anticipated government bonds and bill auction schedule for the upcoming three months which is as follows (in billions of dollars):

Furthermore, the USDT announced an upcoming call for large position reports on select U.S. Treasury securities. Thereafter, all „large“ position holders – those with positions equal to or exceeding a certain Par Value (typically 4 to 5 billion Par Value) – will have to submit a corresponding report to the Treasury.

Finally, the USDT announced that it will be offering a workshop as regards large position reporting and corresponding rules on June 9, 2023. The workshop will be open for all entities subject to the large position reporting requirement and will be free of charge. However, firms must register to participate in the workshop via this link by no later than June 2, 2023. The workshop can be attended by more than one person of each reporting entity.
