The Central Bank requires financial service providers to submit data at specified intervals via the Central Bank Portal. In some exceptional cases, firms may complete their returns via the ONR. This information is used to monitor operations and compliance with legislation and regulations, as well as to produce statistical data.
The amount and type of information required by the Central Bank varies between sectors, with annual returns being mandatory and additional returns at other periods. As of September 2023, access to the ONR via the standard login screen has been removed for most users, and returns must now be accessed via the Portal.
Users can register for an account and link their ONR account to their Portal account. If a user cannot remember their ONR credentials, they should contact their Portal Administrator. Portal Administrators are automatically given access to all return types for their relevant firm.
To submit a return, users should use the Central Bank Portal, and extensive guidance & support can be found on the Portal page. For any questions or concerns, users can contact the Central Bank regarding online returns or the Portal.
