SFC welcomes new financial infrastructure for retail fund distribution in Hong Kong

ID 25620

Following an announcement by Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) on the development of an integrated fund platform for the distribution of retail investment funds in Hong Kong (EventID 23558), the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has published a related press statement. In this press release, the SFC strongly welcomes this initiative by the HKEX which aims to facilitate the entire distribution chain of retail funds, making it easier for market participants to offer fund products to their clients and, in turn, providing investors with a broader range of investment options. The SFC anticipates that the platform will create new business opportunities, increase participation, and diversify Hong Kong’s retail fund market. The initiative is also expected to reinforce Hong Kong’s position as a leading international asset and wealth management center, providing enhanced product choice and transparency for investors. The SFC plans to collaborate closely with HKEX and other stakeholders to implement the new platform.
