New Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/314 as regards the extension of the exemption from margin requirements for certain intragroup derivative contracts was published in the Official Journal (OJ) of the EU. Specifically, the Delegated Regulation modifies Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2016/2251, a Delegated Regulation under the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR), to extend the temporary exemption from margin requirements for OTC derivative contracts traded within a group where the group members are located in different countries and where contracts are established between a group member located in the EU and one in a third country for which there is no equivalence decision.
The exemption from margin requirements for such contracts is extended up to June 30, 2025.
