CFTC Staff Extends Request for Comment on the Impact of Affiliations of Certain CFTC-Regulated Entities

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has published a press statement to inform that the staff of the Divisions of Market Oversight, Clearing and Risk, and Market Participants at the Commission is extending the comment period on its request for comment which seeks to gather insights into potential issues arising from affiliations between CFTC-registered entities and market participants. A detailed description of the request for comment whose key focus is on affiliations between derivatives clearing organizations (DCOs), designated contract markets (DCMs), or swap execution facilities (SEFs) with intermediaries like futures commission merchants (FCMs) or other market participants can be found in EventID 21982.
Please note that the comment period has been extended to September 28, 2023.
