Council Decision (CFSP) 2023/1767 regarding sanction measures in view of actions „undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine“ was published in the Official Journal (OJ) of the EU. The decision modifies Council Decision 2014/145/CFSP which sets out a sanctions framework and targeted sanctions (asset freezing and travel restrictions) against firms, entities, and persons involved in any such activities. The 2014 decision was made following the annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation and later amended following the invasion of Ukraine.
New Council Decision (CFSP) 2023/1767 now extends the application date of the 2014 decision and thus the corresponding sanction measures up to March 15, 2024. The new decision also deletes and modifies numerous records to the corresponding sanctions list set out in the Annex to the 2014 Decision. This action is also subject of a corresponding regulation (Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/1765). Please see EventID #22834 in this context for more information.
