Council Decision (CFSP) 2023/2422 regarding sanction measures in view of the situation in Myanmar/Burma was published in the Official Journal (OJ) of the EU. The decision modifies Council Decision 2013/184/CFSP which sets out a sanctions framework and targeted sanctions directed against persons and entities involved in or supportive of the undermining of democracy in Myanmar/Burma.
Specifically, the 2023 decision extends the general application date of the 2013 decision by six months, up to April 30, 2024.
Also, the Decision updates several existing records in the corresponding sanctions list set out in the Annex to the 2013 Decision. This action is also outlined in a corresponding regulation, Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/2435. Please see EventID #23461 in this context for more information.
