A new consolidated version of Council Regulation (EU) 2019/1716 with respect to sanction measures imposed due to serious human rights violations in Nicaragua or the repression of civil society and / or political opposition was published in the Official Journal (OJ) of the EU.
This consolidated version includes the modifications made by Council Regulation (EU) 2023/2694 which replaced Article 6 to provide a derogation from the terms and regulations on the freezing of funds or the making available of funds so long as these funds are used for purposes of providing humanitarian aid and / or supporting basic human needs by certain organizations.
