The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has published a press release to inform about new sanction measures. Specifically, the Office added five individuals to its Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List (SDN List) pursuant to existing sanction regulations (Executive Order 14033 and Executive Order 14059) for being involved in political destabilization and corruption in the Western Balkans (former Yugoslavian countries and Albania) and for being engaged in drug trafficking in Europe and North America. The designated persons are the following:

OFAC has also renewed its license pertaining to the 2020 8.5% bond of Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. Specifically, according to new General License 5L, OFAC continues to authorize any transactions related to that bond on or after October 20, 2023. The license replaces previous license 5K and is effective July 19, 2023.
