CFTC Announces Postponement of Commitments of Traders Report

Following the recent announcement of a delay in the publication of the Commitments of Traders report (CoT) by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) due to a cyber-incident at ION Cleared Derivatives and the subsequent issues many financial market participants were facing to comply with their daily reporting obligations (please see EventID 19639 in this context), the CFTC has published a follow-up statement in this context.
Therein, the CFTC announces that some firms are still affected by this incident which is why the CFTC is unable to deliver the weekly CoT on February 17, 2023. However, it intends to publish the CoT again on February 24, 2023 provided that CFTC staff members are able to process all relevant daily trading reports and provided that those reports are accurate and complete. Following thereafter, the reporting frequency shall be back on track to weekly publication.
