The Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong (SFC) has issued a revised version of its Checklist for Application for Authorisation of Real Estate Investment Trusts. The checklist – which shall be used beginning on the application date outlined above – MUST be submitted to the SFC along with the prescribed documents. The checklist contains or requires information on:
(1) the REIT (i.e. name – also in Chinese, if available, trustee, listing agent, management company, auditor(s), the listing arrangements, valuation methodology for overseas REITs, etc.);
(2) the basic documents that must be submitted to the SFC along with this checklist such as the offering documents or financial records; and
(3) various confirmation forms to be submitted to verify compliance with the authorization conditions and terms of the SFC.
