Circular to Licensed Corporations Engaged in Asset and Wealth Management Activities – Asset and Wealth Management Activities Survey 2022

The Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong (SFC) has published a circular to announce the launch of its Asset and Wealth Management Activities Survey 2022 (AWMAS). It is particularly addressed at asset management firms providing the following services: fund advising, fund and portfolio management, private banking, or any other type of private wealth management. The survey covers the business year 2022 and must be filed by April 21, 2023 by all firms regardless of whether or not they did provide these services in 2022. Those that were not engaged in asset and wealth management activities in 2022, must indicate so on the questionnaire. The form can be accessed via the SFC’s WINGS site – the online portal for electronic filing – at https://wings.sfc.hk/awmas/#/en/.
In this context, the SFC also calls upon firms to read the „notes on the front page (after selection of the type of firm) and the definitions of certain terms and expressions set out in the “Note” section of the questionnaire“ when filing the document.
