Council Decision (CFSP) 2023/2227 was published in the Official Journal (OJ) of the EU. Therein, the European Council stipulates that Council Decision 2010/638/CFSP setting out restrictive measures in connection with the Republic of Guinea such as asset freezing, trespassing restrictions, and trade restrictions is extended by one year, up to October 27, 2024.
To recap, the 2010 Decision sets out targeted measures, including financial and trespassing sanctions, for persons, firms, and entities associated with the National Council for Democracy and Development (CNDD) and specifies actions that are prohibited such as the provision of arms and weapons or the financing of such.
