eMPF Platform – Bringing new opportunities to MPF intermediaries

The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) has issued a press statement in which it informs of a recent webinar held on December 4, 2023 addressed at mandatory provident fund (MPF) intermediaries. In it, Mr. Anthony Chiu, General Counsel of the MPFA, outlined the objectives, recent developments, and forthcoming opportunities introduced by the eMPF Platform. He specifically emphasized the platform’s role in providing a dedicated Assistant Portal for intermediaries, enabling them to support employers and scheme members with MPF-related applications and tasks. Mr. Chiu underscored the ongoing significance of intermediaries within the MPF system and stressed their significant role beyond administrative functions, particularly in delivering value-added services such as wealth management and retirement planning. Additionally, he announced that the MPFA will provide training programs in the future aimed at equipping intermediaries with a comprehensive understanding of the platform’s functionalities, thereby enabling them to enhance their service provision to clients.
