Financial sanctions, Iran

Following the implementation of the new Iran (Sanctions) Regulations 2023 which repeal Statutory Instrument SI 2019/134, the „Iran (Sanctions) (Human Rights) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019“, in its entirety to create a new sanctions framework for human rights violations and any „hostile activity against the United Kingdom and other countries“ undertaken by Iran (EventID 24209), the Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation of the HM Treasury, OFSI, has published a new Financial Sanctions Notice.
Specifically, the Office informs that „173 entries have been amended to transfer them from the Iran (Human Rights) regime to the new Iran regime“ (Iran (Sanctions) Regulations 2023). Most entries have thereby been moved as is, without modifications; some, however, have been minimally modified in the transition process (e.g. to revise a National Identification Number or the position of a person). As the number of sanctioned individuals and entities is very large, we refrain from listing any detailed records of those already sanctioned persons, firms, or bodies. Please refer to the enclosed sanctions notice for more details in this context.
In the process of this change, however, the OFSI has also designated seven more individuals and one entity which are now subject to asset freezing measures. Their names and records are listed below:
