Financial sanctions, Iran relating to nuclear weapons

ID 25383

The HM Treasury’s Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI) has published a new Financial Sanctions Notice regarding sanctions measures with respect to persons and entities associated with the production of nuclear weapons in Iran pursuant to Statutory Instrument SI 2019/461, the „Iran (Sanctions) (Nuclear) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019“. Specifically, the OFSI informs that it has updated its sanction list by adding 78 persons and entities to its sanctions list that were previously already subject to asset freezing measures and removed automatically on October 18, 2023 due to reaching the „Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action Transition Day“, a deadline day by which Iran was supposed to meet the requirements of various countries to dampen its nuclear weapon program to an allowed level. OFSI has also published an accompanying statement to explain the reasoning behind this measure.
Due to the large number of affected entities and individuals, we refrain from listing the parties individually. Please refer to the enclosed document or follow above noted link for further, detailed information such as the persons‘ or entities‘ names, place of residency, business location, business registration number, or date of birth, each if applicable.
The new consolidated sanction list may be accessed via this link.
