Information Checklist for Application for Authorization of Unit Trusts and Mutual Funds under the Revamped Process

The Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong (SFC) has published a revised Information Checklist for Application for Authorization of Unit Trusts and Mutual Funds under the Revamped Process. The checklist MUST be submitted to the SFC along with the prescribed documents when filing for authorization under the „revamped process“ (accelated processing via the SFC). The checklist contains or requires information on:
(1) the scheme itself (i.e. name, custodian, type of fund / trust, home regulator, representatives, custodial arrangements, etc.);
(2) the basic documents that must be submitted to the SFC along with the checklist; and
(3) the forms as set out in the Annexes such as the confirmation forms of proposed directors, custodians, and fund managers to verify compliance with the authorization conditions and terms of the SFC or the information form on the use of derivatives, to name a few.
