The Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) has published a press release to inform of several decisions that the KNF made at its meeting on February 24, 2023. These include the following, among others:
(1) The decision to withdraw the permission of several entities to conduct activities in the field of payment services due to various violations, including the reporting of relevant transaction information. The affected parties are the following:
– COINQUISTA SA with its registered office in Warsaw;
– VCA sp. z o. o. with its registered office in Poznań;
– Send and Go sp. z o. o. with its registered office in Gdynia; and
– Play Kantor sp. z o. o. with its registered office in Warsaw.
(2) The decision to disapprove the application of Eypay sp. z o. o. to be registered „as a small payment institution in the register of electronic money providers and issuers“ due to failures to comply with all information requirements in this context.
(3) The decision to permit Aftab Currency Exchange located in London the direct acquisition of shares of the national payment institution Monsas sp. z o.o with its registered office in Warsaw in excess of 30% of voting shares.
(4) The decision to permit the withdrawal of shares from trading on the Warsaw stock exchange of the following companies:
– ZPUE SA with its registered office in Włoszczowa from March 6, 2023 and
– Atlas Estates Limited with its registered office in St. Peter Port, Guernsey also from March 6, 2023.
Other decisions of rather lesser importance concerned the approval of a president of a registered financial institution and the approval of the change in depository of a fund management company (Energia Emerytura Fundusz Inwestycyjny Otwarty).
