A new consolidated version of Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2017/653 setting forth the regulatory standards for the creation of a „Key Information Document (KID)“ for Packaged Retail and Insurance-based Investment Products (PRIIPs) was published in the Official Journal (OJ) of the EU. The document contains the modifications made by Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/2268 – which itself was subsequently modified by Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/975 to postpone the application date. Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/2268 overhauled the previous technical standards (the 2017 Delegated Regulation) to make the KID more informative, comparable, and investor-oriented by stipulating new methodologies regarding the calculation of appropriate performance scenarios, revising the summary cost indicators, or by specifying new methods to compute transaction costs, to name a few.
