Progress on financial services legislative files

The Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN) has published an updated version of its document containing „information from the Presidency concerning the state of play of legislative proposals in the field of financial services“. The overview table is dated 17 October 2023 and distinguishes different colour-coded stages of each file.
The changes from the previous version are as follows:
1. The „interinstitutional negotiations„ on the Insurance Recovery and Resolution Directive (IRRD), as well as the trilogues on a directive amending Directive 2009/138/EC as regards proportionality, quality of supervision, reporting, long-term guarantee measures, macro-prudential tools, sustainability risks, group and cross-border supervision, that are both part of the EU’s review package of Solvency II provisions are „still ongoing„;
2. Due to the provisional agreement reached with the EP on 19 July 2023, the „trilogues„ on the CMU Package as regards amendments to the AIFMD are „in finalisation„; and
3. Concerning the proposed Instant Payment Regulation, the „trilogues„ are „still ongoing„.
