New Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/180 as regards restrictive measures targeted against Russia in view of its activities to destabilize the Ukraine was published in the Official Journal (OJ) of the EU. The Implementing Regulation modifies Council Regulation (EU) No 833/2014 to finally implement the broadcasting prohibition relating to the following entities (as set out in Annex XV to Regulation (EU) No 833/2014):
1. NTV/NTV Mir
2. Rossiya 1
3. REN TV
4. Pervyi Kanal
The prohibition was initiated by Council Regulation (EU) 2022/2474, but wasn’t implemented yet in terms of coming into force. New Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/180 now sets the application date of the prohibition to February 1, 2023.
