The Hong Kong government has published a press release to announce the gazettal of the United Nations Sanctions (Haiti) Regulation. The regulation implements several decisions of the United Nations Security Council as regards restrictive measures towards Haiti as outlined in UN resolution 2653 which was subsequently modified by UN resolution 2664. The sanction measures encompass the following:
(1) the prohibition to supply, sell, or transfer military goods and services (arms and weapons, technical assistance, etc.) to certain entities and persons;
(2) the prohibition to make available funds or other financial assets and resources to sanctioned persons, entities, and bodies;
(3) the prohibition to „deal with funds or other financial assets or economic resources belonging to, or owned or controlled by, certain persons or entities“; and
(4) the prohibition of sanctioned persons to enter or trespass Hong Kong territory.
