Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/721 regarding sanctions measures directed towards person, entities, and bodies engaged in or supportive of serious human rights violations in Iran has been published in the Official Journal (OJ) of the EU. It amends the list of sanctioned parties set out in Annex I to Council Regulation (EU) No 359/2011 by removing one individual from the list altogether and replacing the records of 18 persons and three entities.

The Council also extended the sanction measures directed towards Iran for another year, as stipulated in Council Decision (CFSP) 2023/727. Please see EventID 20369 in this context for more information.
