The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) has announced an upcoming „Symposium on the Tokenization of Real-World Assets and Liabilities“ at the OCC’s headquarter in Washington, DC on February 8, 2024.
The symposium aims to facilitate public discussion on the potential benefits of tokenizing real-world financial assets and liabilities to enhance financial settlement efficiency and reliability. The event will feature a keynote speech by Hyun Song Shin from the Bank for International Settlements and panel presentations covering legal foundations, tokenization applications, and risk management considerations. It will also include discussions on legal and economic research related to tokenization.
The symposium will be open to the public and will also be livestreamed. Details on the agenda, registration, and livestream participation will be announced later on this year on the OCC’s dedicated symposium website.
