The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) has published a press release to inform that the upcoming „Symposium on the Tokenization of Real-World Assets and Liabilities“ at the OCC’s headquarter in Washington, DC on February 8, 2024 is now open for public registration via this link. In this context, the OCC notes that registration for in-person attendance will only be open up to January 22, 2024 or until „full“. The event will also be livestreamed on that day.
The symposium aims to facilitate public discussion on the potential benefits of tokenizing real-world financial assets and liabilities to enhance financial settlement efficiency and reliability. The event will feature a keynote speech by Hyun Song Shin from the Bank for International Settlements and panel presentations covering legal foundations, tokenization applications, and risk management considerations. It will also include discussions on legal and economic research related to tokenization. The agenda to the symposium may be found here.
The OCC has also dedicated a website to provide more information surrounding the symposium for all those that are keen to find out more on the issue.
