Following the European Council’s adoption of a twelth package of restrictive measures against Russia in response to the invasion of the Ukraine by Russia, the European Commission (EC) has published corresponding new questions and answers (Q&As) in that regard. The Commission thereby outlines the rationale for adopting the new measures and briefly summarizes the scope of the new measures which involve further financial restrictions with respect to certain Russian entities and individuals, the refinement of the oil price cap, a prohibition to provide various goods which may be used for military purposes to Russia, and many others.
