Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/1027 relating to sanctions imposed due to the situation in Syria has been published in the Official Journal (OJ) of the EU. It amends the list of sanctioned individuals set out in Annex II, Section A (Persons) to Council Regulation (EU) No 36/2012 by removing two persons from the sanction list. The affected individuals are the following:
(1) Entry 122 – Dr Fayssal ABBAS
(2) Entry 161 – Dr Mohamad Zafer MOHABAK
Also, the Council updated the records of 19 individuals that are currently on the list. The affected persons are the following:

(9) Entry 120 – Dr Adnan SLAKHO
(10) Entry 121 – Dr Saleh AL-RASHED
(11) Entry 192 – Hashim Anwar AL-AQQAD
(12) Entry 271 – Khaled AL-ZUBAIDI
(13) Entry 284 – Mazin AL-TARAZI
(14) Entry 285 – Samer FOZ
(15) Entry 290 – Waseem AL-KATTAN
(16) Entry 291 – Amer FOZ
(17) Entry 324 – Ahmed KHALIL KHALIL
