Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/1126 in connection with sanction measures directed against individuals, firms, or bodies associated with the terrorist organizations Al-Qaida and / or the ISIL has been published in the Official Journal (OJ) of the EU. The regulation removes one individual from the list of sanctioned natural persons set out in Annex I, Part A of Council Regulation (EU) 2016/1686. The affected individual is the following:
Sultan Aziz AZAM (a.k.a. Aziz Azam, Sultan Aziz, Sultan Azziz Azzam, Sultan Aziz Ezzam); date of birth: 1985; place of birth: Afghanistan; nationality: Afghan – previously recorded under entry #9.
Please note that the person remains subject to asset freezing measures under another EU sanctions regulation.
