EBA has reinforced its commitment to diversity and inclusion by adopting the European Union Agencies network charter on diversity and inclusion.
The EBA is committed to promoting fair and equal opportunities and preventing discrimination among staff, with action taken since 2021 having led to significant results in the area of gender equality. The EBA also carries out policy and regulatory work to reinforce diversity and equality principles in European legislation requiring credit institutions and investment firms to consider diversity and ensure equality among members of their management bodies.
To transparently report on how principles of diversity and inclusion are implemented in the EBA’s internal organisation and to present the agency’s policy work in this area, the Authority has also published a new webpage.
The EUAN Charter on Diversity and Inclusion, which the EBA adopted, calls on EU agencies to implement human resources policies that promote diversity and inclusion, secure equal opportunities at every stage of staff careers, and enforce staff regulations to exclude discrimination.
The Charter is a commitment in favour of diversity and inclusion among the EU Agencies Network, whose staff members must benefit from equal treatment and opportunities, irrespective of any ground such as sex, race, colour, ethnic or social origin, genetic features, language, religion or belief, political or any other opinion, membership of a national minority, property, birth, disability, age or sexual orientation.
