The International Tax Compliance (Amendment) Regulations 2023 was published on Legislation.gov.uk, the official online portal of the UK government for publicizing legal texts. The regulations amend the International Tax Compliance Regulations 2015. Latter were introduced in 2015 to „give effect to agreements and arrangements reached between the Government of the United Kingdom and other jurisdictions to improve international tax compliance“ and set out numerous obligations regarding reporting and due diligence requirements of UK financial institution in (accordance with the agreements).
These new regulations provide that agreements made up to April 19, 2023 will fall under the provisions of the 2015 regulation meaning that the requirements of UK financial institutions set out in the 2015 regulation will apply for all agreements made up to this date.
