A new version of the United Nations Sanctions (Iraq) Regulation was published on Hong Kong’s e-Legislation platform, the official website of the Hong Kong government for publicizing legal texts.
Generally speaking, the Regulation primarily implements trade-related sanction measures towards Iraq in accordance with UN sanction resolutions, including the prohibition to supply or deliver certain goods to Iraq and the promotion of such supply and delivery. It also sets out provisions for obtaining a license and for penalizing any attempt of circumventing the sanction measures, including the provision of false information to get a license.
This latest revised version contains modifications in the main part of the document and in the schedule, both times concerning the Chinese version only. As far as our text comparison tool revealed, the changes are only non-substantive, non-material in nature and do NOT alter the content of the regulation.
