The AMF has revised the position limits for agricultural commodity derivatives positions traded on Euronext Paris Matif following the amendment on 20 April 2022 of the European Commission Delegated Regulation 2022/1302 supplementing MiFID2 on 20 April 2022.
The position limits, which were previously implemented on 3 January 2018, have been revised to reflect market developments. There are two types of limits set for each underlying: one for positions held on the contracts with the closest maturity (spot month), and another for aggregated positions on the other maturities. ESMA has confirmed the compliance of these limits with the new regulation established at the European level.
The limit applicable to positions held on the spot month contract has been increased for the milling wheat contract, maintained for the rapeseed contract, and decreased for the corn contract.
All limits applicable to aggregate positions held on the other months have been increased for the three contracts.
The revised position limits will take effect on 1 June 2023.
