The AFG issued an update to its PRIIPs FAQ with tracked changes. An update to Question 7.6 on the issue of the use of PRIIPS KIDs by life insurance distributors and the corresponding statements to be added was introduced, which we would like to present in full after the break, quote:
—
„Q. 7.6 Since KID PRIIPS can be used by insurers, should it be specified that the costs presented do not include the costs of the life insurance contract?
1. In the section on costs, it is advisable to stick to a wording strictly in accordance with the RTS (Art. 5.2 and Art. 14.d) and set out in Appendix VII: „It may be that the person who sells you this product or gives you advice about it requests you to pay additional costs. If so, this person informs you about these costs and shows you the impact of these costs on your investment.“
2. Under “Other relevant information”, the following sentence may be added when the fund is likely to be marketed in life insurance (with agreement of the AMF and in accordance with Article 8.1 of the RTS): “When this product is used as a unit-linked support for a life insurance or capitalization contract, additional information on this contract, such as contract costs, which are not included in the costs shown in this document, the contact in the event of a complaint and what happens in the event failure of the insurance company, must be presented in the key information document of this contract and provided by your insurer or broker, or any other insurance intermediary in accordance with its legal obligation.“
